Cilantro haters gifts!? Why is that?
So recently I came across this article from Bored Panda about a Facebook group dedicated to Cilantro Haters! I thought that was weird. I have no idea this wonderful herb is an object of loathing for so many people. And there is even a website dedicated to cilantro or coriander haters.
Apparently, there is a scientific explanation for this aversion to cilantro. Here’s what I found:
Scientists were able to pin down most cilantro haters as people with a shared group of olfactory-receptor genes, called OR6A2, that pick up on the smell of aldehyde chemicals. Aldehyde chemicals are found in both cilantro and soap. ~ Huffpost
Anyway, I have no problem with cilantro even though sometimes the smell is a little bit too detergent-ly. It still tastes good with soup though 🙂
Inspired by this new found knowledge, I decided to design some simple digital art and use them on notebook covers and all kinds of merch. They will make great gifts for cilantro hater.
I am sorry. Most of the covers are in white and that’s why you can’t see the borders. But do click on the individual pictures to view the listings on Amazon. They are all available in all Amazon marketplaces worldwide.
And of course,a couple of these designs are available on my Redbubble shops. Check them out here.
What do you think of these cilantro haters gift?
